I have been a long time member and am now on staff. I love my church and hope you will too!

loving your church... the people? the place? can you give us more details? what are the sermons like in both content and delivery? what is the music like? the building itself? what do you think the first thing an outsider would notice their first time there? most importantly, how does this church fulfill Jesus' command to love your enemies and serve others? thank you for coming by! I hope we hear more from you soon.

St. James UMC is a large United Methodist Church with a small denomination feel. With 6 services from which to choose, there are different ways one can worship and feel at home. From very Contemporary to traditional hymns sung to a melodious pipe organ, there are many ways to show praise. There are five pastors on staff that are diverse in their preaching style, yet work very well together to create a sermon series, programs and services that promote God’s teachings of loving and serving one another.

The program Staff at St. James works hard to create worshipful experiences for those who attend. Our Children and Youth Departments offer a variety of ways in which our young may grow in faith from small groups and bibles studies to choirs and hand bells. The Singles Ministry Team is very active in the community and meet together throughout the week. We offer many paths to deepening faith and enriching lives but it isn't all about programs. Almost all of our programs are free and open to anyone interested in taking them and we provide childcare for free for all of them so there are no obstacles in growing in your faith!

St. James UMC is very Mission focused. We are doing our best to follow in Christ's teachings to love one another, serve each other and make disciples for Him. At every age level here, we give back to our community. We participate in Mission trips out of the country, in other states as well as here at home. We serve the homeless thru Under The Bridge Ministry, Stone Soup and several shelters here in town receive food from us. We have volunteer Teams who stock food pantries, provide furniture and resources to the Foster Care System in Arkansas as well as providing Christmas to all of the children in the North Little Rock Foster Care System. Our Benevolence Fund here provides monetary needs for those in the community that have been hit hard by providing rent, or by helping to pay bills in order to prevent shut offs of services.

As a visitor of St. James you would encounter a Howdy Duty Volunteer that would help you with parking and point you in the right direction depending on your needs. Once entering the building, you will see volunteers that are ready to welcome you and assist you in finding worship or classes. A visit to the Welcome Center and we will set you up with class listings and programs we offer. You will also receive a parting gift as a way of saying, "Thanks for worshipping with us today!". The pastors are available after the services to meet and greet you to address any questions you may have for them.

The best way to judge is to come and experience God's love for you with the people of St. James! You can visit www.stjames-umc.org for more details.
