I've attended Maple Leaf Lutheran full-time for more than two years. The congregation is warm and welcoming. Church members are involved in many volunteer activities, including the Lake City Holiday Project and a SHARE homeless shelter. We also host an Oktoberfest event.

The pastor, Julie Blum, preaches the good news of the Bible. We are a Reconciling in Christ Congregation and welcome people of all backgrounds and sexual orientations. We have a vibrant Sunday School with many children, adult book and Bible studies, a wonderful music program, and a growing Youth Group. Average Sunday attendance is about 85 and getting larger.

If you're looking for a liberal, community-oriented and Christ-based church in Seattle, check us out — www.reachoutchurch.org. Service starts at 10:30 a.m. with earlier hours during summer.

Hey!  I used to live right down the street from this church!

Another really kewl thing they do (as I understand it) is participate in a program in the city of Seattle in which homeless people gather in a central location each evening and are dispatched in smaller groups to lots of local churches and organizations who provide bed space for them--Maple Leaf Church donates the use of their large basement meeting area for this purpose, and church members, I believe, volunteer to help out to make it all work.

Julie Blum came over to our house for dinner once, and she is a really gracious, open, lovely person. We didn't attend the church, but we always felt proud to have them in our neighborhood, and their constant involvement locally in MTWABP* was always an inspiration and example for us.  Rock on Maple Leaf!
