Idlewild Baptist

THe love of God shines through from the moment you roll into the parking lot past the parking volunteers.  They'll greet you as you walk to the church, you'll be greeted as you wak in the church with a genuine welcome.  THe church membership is very large so the small groups are where the connections are made.  These connections might be in a Bible fellowship class, a class to learn English as a second language, a class for individuals recovering from all types of addictions; Faith Riders,our motorcylce club; our women's groups, single mother's support, mothers of pre-schooers, men's accountability groups or while sitting as a loving parent at a baseball, soccer or football game on one of our sports fields.  Because the church is so large it has the capacity to have a broad variety of small groups where someone can find kindred spirits, support and companionship.

The majority of the staff has been there for many years.  Senior Pastor Ken Whitten has messages that hit the heart with God's word.  He is not a fire and brimstone pastor ... he is a teaching pastor who uses stories and comedy to help us hold the message.

The church has a stong foundation in the belief that we are here to reach our communities and beyond.  We have a VERY active missions group both locally and worldwide.   THe pre-school, children's, teen's ,college  family and seniors each of an associate pastor to help oversee the activities for that particuar group.

For those that enjoy the music ... you are in for an uplifting experience.  The blend of traditional insprirational and contemporary music will fill your soul.

All of this may sound a bit trite ... but I can assure you that anyone can feel at home at Idlewild as long as they will make the effort to reach out to the learn about which groups might be a good fit for them.  There are several welcome centers with concierge services to greet visitors and help guide them.  And if you need more information just call the church offices, or come to the church... just walk up to any member in the parking lot, tell then you are visiting and I guarantee any one of us will hel you find your way.  

The dress code on a Sunday morning can range from walking shorts and sandals to your best Sunday duds.  All are welcome to worship.  If you are looking for a church home.  I would invite you to come experience the excitement and love of God and his servants at Idlewild Baptist Church.
