Hope Community
While this church meets in the multi-purpose gym of a Korean Presbyterian Church, Hope has done a great job of creating an inviting atmosphere. This church is mainly full of 20-40 somethings with a lot of small kids running around. There is a full gamat of kids programs available for kids of all ages. The worship mainly consists of Indelible Grace songs (old hymns set to new music) and the preaching is Gospel-centered and biblically grounded. The pastor does a good job of applying the text to those listening and challenges the listeners to act upon what they've learned that Sunday. There is no evening service, but instead, there are many community group meetings that take place throughout the week as well as Sunday evening. It is fair to say that as a newcomer, you may not get to know many people and the big open space can be a bit intimating, but the real intimacy and friendships happen in community group and as you get to know people there, you'll have people to talk to Sunday mornings as well. Hope is very welcoming and there is always someone ready and willing to help you. I gave the church 4 stars because in my opinion, the church is lacking in a wide range of ages. I think a 5 star church would have all generations represented where the young learn from the old and all worship together the one, triune God. But that just may be my personal opinion. But honestly, the preaching and worship are excellent. Try it out!
