Hope Christian Church
we came to the church because it had such an unusual building, didnt look like a church- but it was good, mostly. the worship was too loud and the leader looked like he just woke up or something. he also did a small sermon i didnt understand before there was another small sermon before commuinon time, and then the pastor had another long sermon. the service was about an hour,, but it was just okay. our kids liked their children classes, but it looked really disorganized back in that part of the building. the people were friendly. it looks like there are lots of young families, which was what we hoped for, but it didnt feel like a young church- except for the 20-something worship leaders. i'd give it a C if i had to grade my church experiece- we may go again but were still looking..

the church seems friendly enough. people greet you when you come in the door. we've gone a few times now and they've had communion every sunday so they must have it all the time.
the worship people seem to be the same all the time and it seems a lot like they are performing or showing off rather than worshiping. there's a lot of solos by not so great singers and a lot of talking when the people are just standing and watching. i didn't really feel like worship. there's a really good piano guy who plays jazz music every sunday but i'm not sure if he shouldn't have a tip jar or something on his piano. maybe they need a sign out front announcing the musicians because they seem more like entertainers at a concert than a worship group.
the kids program seems ok but the other guy's right. it's pretty confusing and not very kid friendly.
the sermon is short but the few we've heard have been challenging. overall it seems to be really nice. i have friends who go here to are trying to get us to come and they say really great things about it. if i could recommend anything, we would say to organize the kids area, to change the singers and get rid of the concert thing the worship team is doing.
Great description
One Question - What do you suggest they do instead of "the concert thing the worship team is doing."
In your opinion what does a better worship experience lool like?
don't have spotlights on the singers. don't encourage people to clap for you after you sing or play. stop the vocal showing off and allow people to sing along. let there be times of quiet worship instead of filling the silence with more talk about yourself. maybe have different people some of the time so it isn't like a house band or something.
excellent feedback
very clear
hope you continue rating churches for us
Thanks
