CBC is a church that has great teaching and is a very friendly, outreaching family.
Previous to finding Community Baptist, our family literally drove an hour to reach a church that had what we needed. When it came time to relocate, CBC was a perfect fit, with very biblically sound teaching. I was impressed.

Is CBC similar to Southern Baptist or Conservative Baptist churches? Do you think it would define "very biblically sound" the same way that these other Baptist churches might? It seems to be Calvinist, at least on some issues; is this your sense? I wonder who else might consider this church to be a "perfect fit" for them; might doctrinal compatibility be a top issue?
I am sorry I did not see your query earlier than today. (I have been rather "short-circuited" by pain from nerve re-growth after a spinal cord injury a few years back.)
I would not characterize the church as either "Calvinistic" or SBC. It is certainly not Calvinistic in a deterministic sense. It is an independant baptist church. It is currently shedding a "safehouse" mentality that we had found ourselves in for a "light set on a hill", "love your neighbor" one.
Come in and find out what God is doing.

I live in Madison Heights and I am looking for a church home. Is this racially diverse church?
It is a small church, and a very welcoming and accepting one. Racially speaking, I think it is quite "color blind", although we do not "presently" run too deep due to job transfers out-of-state. You would be VERY welcomed. Please come and see for yourself!
Our music is pretty diverse but centered on worship and praise. We are very blessed with great teaching and preaching. We are at a light on the South side of Twelve Mile Btwn John R & Dequindre, the church with the message board on the sign. Many people park and come in the back. Come early for a cup of coffee (or juice) and a bagel or donut and meet a few people before 11:00 service.
We have 5-6 smaller more intimate and personal home meetings through-out the week instead of a Wednesday evening service.
