Bridge City Community Church
My review is biased, no question. I am lucky to serve as a pastor in this community, and have done so for the last eleven years. But I'm also a follower of Jesus who has long desired a community of fellow disciples that was safe to be vulnerable in, and still could challenge me to grow. My spiritual journey has never been more vibrant than these last years.
The last five years in particular have been an adventure of working out what it means to really be a community where we are both radically inclusive (anyone is welcome here) and at the same time we experience committed intimacy (real relationships where we are known, loved, and encouraged to grow.) We've not always gotten it right, but we have continued to maintain a commitment to growing in this way.
People who have been wounded by institutional religion have found a safe transformation place here. People who have wandered far from God have found a place where they can voice their questions and still be a part of the community, even if they haven't sorted it all out yet. And more and more, we are finding ways to encourage all of us to go deeper in our relationship with God.
I've been a Christian since childhood, and have pastored for 15 years. I've been a member of a lot of churches, and led in several. In my limited experience I've never found a church like this before, and I am so thankful to God for the community He is building here.
