Bellevue Christian Church Disciples of Christ
I've been going to Bellevue Christian Church my entire life, so of course I am very fond of the church and its members. Our denomination was born in the 1800s, and continues to be influenced by its founding ideals of our unity in Christ with openness and diversity in practice and belief. We have communion every Sunday and all are welcome to participate. Lay leaders are very important in the life of the church and participate a variety of important ministries. We are young and old, liberal and conservative, with diverse faith backgrounds. We come together to learn more about God's dream for humanity and how we can serve to realize it. Outreach is very important to our congregation - among the organizations we are pleased to support are Overlake Service League, Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing, and Together We Build (Habitat for Humanity). Pastor Mike is an excellent and thought-provoking speaker! :) He loves a good discussion and is perfectly happy to have his viewpoint challenged. We are a social justice congregation and we believe Jesus taught social justice. Dress is casual to dressy, however you are most comfortable (Personally, I'm always overdressed, don't mind me!). Drop by and see whether Bellevue Christian is a good match for you - Sunday School for children and adults starts at 9:30am during the school year and the service starts at 10:45am. (Check out the website for our summer schedule). ALL are welcome, whatever your background and lifestyle. Hope to see you there!

I assume it means you are on the board - not bored -:)
Great picture of your church
What we would like to know is what YOU get out of the church
This is closer to a cool churchvertisement
Tell our readers why YOU like it - (or dislike)
Hi, Jim!
Well, you know board meetings... Occasionally they are boring as well! :) Okey dokey, I like it myself because people there are open-minded, and we can civilly agree to disagree on some things and still be friends. My church "group" of youngish ladies is totally awesome, most of us have kids but we get together for ladies' night out as often as we can. We are a fairly small congregation so we are all friends and really support one another. My kids LOVE going to church, which is cool. I am also really crazy about the outreach projects we're involved in!
And Pastor Mike is a genuine, down-to-earth person who is an excellent speaker and really cares about all of us. Bible study is always really interesting and thought-provoking, as well as a great way to learn more about church members who are also participating.
I guess my original post is kinda like a "churchvertisement", but people don't seem to know much about our denomination so I tried to make it generally informative as well. ;)
