jesusbookcover Pastor Mark Van Steenwyk has posted a detailed review of this book on his blog. Overall Mark thought

The book was pretty well written, though I could tell from Jesus’ sections that he hadn’t written a book before. His insights were the most insightful, but I found I could relate with Tim’s perspective more easily.

Read the rest of Mark’s review and find out what Jesus thought of the churches he visited with Pastor Tim Henderson.

Love it — especially “Lakewater”–too perfect. I guess you know you’ve made it when people start to spoof you and do it reasonably well.

I enjoyed the review although I think this book would have been more interesting and innovative if Pastor Tim had taken an atheist to church and asked him his opinion about it ;-)

Oh, how funny! So many nice touches, including this:

Jesus stood up and said: “I have already told you. The Kingdom of God is among you. Stop looking for signs and wonders, and follow the gentle leading of my Spirit.” Afterwards, Jesus got rebuked…and one elder attempted to “deliver” Jesus from a “spirit of rebellion.”

And Him shaking His sandals on the doorstep as he left the last church. Zing!

being spoofed. what a high complement! it’s like Weird Al spinning his Weird Alness to a hit song. But spoofing a book? Yes, I love it!
