No Mean People Allowed
Ever see this bumper sticker? No Mean People Allowed!
One of the things that never ceases to amaze me (and my atheist friends -yes they are watching) is how mean Christians can be to each other (and to non believers).
There are some of the comments on this site that are pretty vitriolic.
There aren’t a lot of these kinds of comments but even the few that get past our scanner are just plain mean.
Church Rater will delete these comments as soon as we see them or they’re brought to our attention
If you want your comments or reviews to be read you will have to take the vitriol out before pushing the Post button
Stick with the categories of Singing, Preaching, Friendliness etc
Topics such as financial irresponsibility, adultery, etc. are issues you will have to take up with people who actually can look you in the eye - those issues are beyond the scope of a blog.

Financial irresponsiblity is serious and I’d sure be unhappy if no one warned me about a church that’s fudging and has some serious problems. But it’s your site, and if you want to silence truth, so be it. Sit and watch the church I warned you about, you’ll see in time how deceptive they really are. And to appease you, I never said who they were so they can’t complain and you won’t be able to say I was ‘mean’.

Wish we could help but we have our limitations. I’m sure there are other sites out there that would welcome your comments and concerns- Have you tried Ship of Fools?

4 12/17/07 3:10 PM | Comment Link |Well, forgive my confusion. I read the following from your site and took it to mean you really wanted an honest opinion. “What you have to say: we welcome any comments you have. Brief comments are fine; so are detailed ones. Please be brutally honest. Go back up to ‘Name’ and make up a screen name if you’re afraid of negative repercussions if you identify yourself. We don’t mind.”

Due to the inablility of some people to be honest without being mean we may have to restate our criteria

Did you notice the very next paragraph of our guidelines after what you quoted said this:
Anyway, I edited the part you quoted a little since it confused you.
I hope you’ve found - or will find - a church you’re happy with.
